This is one of the quickest and easiest ways to add a bit of realism to your Pianoteq presets. That really is the best part of Pianoteq – being able to tweak and refine it to our liking. It feels alive and insanely responsive to touch.Īnd that is before we get into all of the unique ways you can shape the sound. The playability and general responsiveness of Pianoteq is incredible. Because it’s physically modeled, there aren’t a ton of samples to load. Really, the flaws are most prominent in solo piano pieces, as you might expect.Īnd as a live performance tool, I would go as far as saying that Pianoteq is my absolute favorite. Inside of a mix, the imperfections of Pianoteq will probably go unnoticed. I would have no problem using it in production and pros love it. Now before I go any further, I want to highlight an important point. Unfortunately, some people feel that this software is not quite there yet, so I wanted to take some time to explore how we can help Pianoteq pianos sound a bit more authentic. Pianoteq has come a long way and can in fact fool people into believing they’re healing a real, properly-recorded piano (which is both expensive and difficult to do.) Again, sampled pianos are based on recordings – so, those aren’t ever going to change. This makes it far more diverse and opens up an extreme number of options that you simply couldn’t ever get with sampled pianos. Instead, Pianoteq uses complicated math to recreate the sound from scratch – including all of the physical properties of the piano. It’s not made up of actual recordings of real pianos. Unlike most piano VSTs and plugins on the market, Pianoteq isn’t sampled. If you search a versatile piano instrument for your computer but don’t want to use sample libraries than check out the new improved Pianoteq 6. I’m not user of the Pianoteq plugin but what I know from other users is that this plugin is fantastic in his sound quality. Also a good addition is the VST3 plugin format support and compatibility for Linux system with ARM architecture. The new version includes several sound engine refinements and comes with comes with a new physical model for increased realism and acoustic presence.
